2009 South Africa SILVER proof 2 RAND ZAKUMI ngc PF69 FIFA soccer R2 FOOTBALL
You get the exact one shown here: certification # 2838667-009. 2009 SOUTH AFRICA SILVER PROOF 2 RAND. This coin is a “NCS Conservation Candidate” which means it would likely have graded PF70 if I had of taken their recommendation and had the coin conserved. This coin statistically doesn’t grade well and is about the 4th one that I’ve had graded and 3 out of 4, despite being great looking coins, graded PF69. This one was flagged as being a candidate for conservation and would have undoubtedly graded higher if I had of had that done. Conservation can add weeks to getting the whole coin parcel back and since I already had a PF70 in my personal collection I declined conservation. This coin is freshly graded with a pristine new holder and is priced to be a relative bargain given the cost to obtain and grade high-grade coins and given the poor statistical chances of getting a perfect grade even on high-grade coins of this year and type. You get the exact one shown here: certification # 2823926-012. 2002 south africa SILVER 1 RAND NGC PF69 FOOTBALL R1 S1R (sometimes called the bafana bafana coin) – On August 12, 2020, the NGC population report reflected that none had ever graded higher. But the day after that the apple cart was upset and now one coin has graded higher. But since that one coin isn’t for sale, a pf69 is the highest grade currently offered for sale by anyone worldwide. I only mention all of that to illustrate that the PF69 grade for this coin is actually respectable. And perhaps a bit of humble-brag if the truth be told. This coin is not offered for sale in the raw un-graded form very often and it is hard to get this coin for grading purposes. In light of its obvious scarcity this coin has an appropriate price. In the course of assembling a complete set of NGC-graded regularly issued R1 coins, this coin was the last one that I added to my set because it was so hard to find. I bought this coin in south africa and had it graded. I have just been fortunate enough to upgrade this coin and I’m now offering it for sale. It took a lot of effort to bring this coin to market. I had submitted this coin with high hopes but alas this particular one could not break the ceiling. Also, for several of the coins in the R1 series, PF69 is the top pop. It is an extremely difficult task to find a raw R1 that will grade PF70. I speak from experience on this as I have sent countless R1 coins for grading. Many of the R1 coins – just like this 2002 football – only have 1 that have graded PF70. So for the R1 series a PF69 isn’t a shabby grade on the coins minted before 2015. I participate in the NGC competitive registry sets and currently hold position #8 (which will be changing soon). In the process of improving my collection I sell my duplicate coins here.
