This is a very beautiful Pieter Viljoen custom-made knife from South Africa. The knife features a steel blade with exquisite ebony wood handles. It also features a tooled leather sheath. This was from my uncle’s estate. It was in his safe. It is new, never sharpened or carried. Any blade imperfections and marks shown in the photos is from the Tuff Cloth oil rag it was wiped with. Some small dots that appear in the photos are specks of leather from the sheath. This knife is perfect! Blade measures just under 3 inches. Overall length is about 5 3/4 inches. A highly collectible Rob Brown Clip Point Utility Knife. The steel used for this blade is Hitachi ATS 34 hardened to 59 Rockwell C and mirror polished and features an engraving of a Trout on one side and a Duck on the other. The handle is made from jigged and dyed giraffe shin bone. The sale includes the Buffalo hide hand stitched sheath formed to fit the blade. The Knifemakers Guild of South Africa gave an award of excellence which was presented to Rob Brown in the category of Bird and Trout for this knife.
