Brian Hern had published images of this type coin decades ago yet NGC didn’t recognize any errors or varieties for many years in the silver R1 coins. Morgan Carroll to help me get this error officially recognized by NGC a couple of years ago. Since these coins were regular circulation coins that were. Placed into circulation there are very few good examples in existence. This is a particularly fine example and only 3 coins have graded higher than MS 63 (as of the time this was listed – refer to census report for current statistics as they sometimes change). It is very hard to get a MS63 grade and the price on this one is a relative bargain. This is more and more evident as I continue to submit these for grading. I sell sealed sets also.
