This baby comes with all original government packaging (OGP) and a nice LOW COA of #262. It has a low NGC population of only 229 as of 3/15/19 and not likely to be many more. MINT SEALED 2019 South Africa Silver Proof R2 POLYMER PUTTY 2 rand MOON LANDING
Mint Sealed -It’s your best bet! 2019 South Africa R2 “Polymer Putty” aka’Moon Landing’ coin. This R2 coin is part of the “South African Inventions” series. The invention in this case is Polymer Putty which was used in several of the Apollo missions. It was used in the Ranger Spacecraft and is relevant to the moon landing anniversary. You get the exact one shown, cert# 250. One thing that is unusual about this coin is that the dies were laser etched. The sky/stars/ galaxy seen in the background is incredibly fine due to laser etching of the dies. This is hard to explain and even harder to photograph. If you have seen the archosaur coin in person and seen the mountain and clouds background then perhaps the previous statement will make sense. But note that the coin looks different than in the’sterilized’ version of the photo provided by the mint. I imagine it is because you have to tilt the coin “just so” in order to capture the fine background. This is one of the better looking coins that the South African Mint has ever designed and struck! This comes as shown, mint-sealed in a plastic package with standard mint packaging inside. This does come with a C. A (Certificate of Authenticity). This is the last one that I currently have in stock. I collect South African coins and I got frustrated with the lack of mint-sealed coins. Out of frustration I developed a way that would enable me to get the latest coins direct from the mint. This coin is accurately described as being a 2019 South Africa R2 “polymer putty” in Mint-sealed packaging and that is precisely what you will get. The photos shows an example of the mint sealed package that you will get, and the photos show also what the coin looks like according to the mint website as well as one from one of my sets. The coin photos are from the mint and aren’t of the exact coin itself since it is impossible to photograph them with them being mint sealed and all. You may want to check out my other items as I have lots of South African silver coins, included graded and raw coins. I’ll be listing a limited number of other types of Mint-Sealed South African silver coins in the next few days.
