Up for sale is a silver 5 shilling coin struck to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the creation of the Union of South Africa. This coin shows the Union buildings, government buildings which house the administrative offices of the Union of South Africa. These buildings were completed in 1913. The buildings would serve as the site for many protests over the years and serve as the place where Nelson Mandela was inaugurated as President of South Africa in 1994.
