The renowned, and highly regarded, South African silversmith, Joe Calafato, designed and fabricated this amazing choker collar necklace in a. Weighing 40 grams and measuring 15″ end to end (excluding the central pendant section, which measures 1.5″), the width is 28 mm. This extremely beautiful – and extremely rare – piece of statement jewellery was named CANDIDA, and the piece is possibly from the 40’s. It comprises very fine and detailed silverwork, largely depicting African plumage head-dresses, as well as local flora. On the reverse, it is stamped “Sterling Candida”. A true a work of art and a wonderful example of rare statement jewellery which is in stunning vintage condition! The necklace will be gift wrapped and posted in a new gift or postal box.
