19th Century Sterling Silver Stick Pin Paul Kruger South African Shilling
This interesting little curio the profile was created from a silver South African shilling coin. The president Paul Kruger’s side profile very cleverly cut away and attached to a white metal stick pin. Measuring a small 2.5 tall this is a good quality little item and a great addition to your antique tie or stick pin collection. Offered in excellent condition, this will make a fantastic gift. Stephanus Johannes Paulus Kruger (10 October 1825 14 July 1904) was better known as Uncle Paul or in Afrikaans: “Oom Paul”. He was President of the South African Republic (Transvaal). He was infamous for his stand against British attempted rule during the Second Boer War of 1899.
