They send the good coins to grading and then. Sell the rejects (at a hefty premium) as if they were simply normal new ungraded coins. They re-assemble the rejected raw coins as a “new” set for a high price – so beware. I send sealed sets to grading as I have no intentions of passing off reject raw coins in that manner. Something is really odd about the Big 5 Buffalo & Krugerrand set. & that was with the mint being shut down most of the time. I suspect that the mintage was. Below the 1000 coin limited mintage that was planned. For now, that is just a suspicion until. The mintage figures are published. I also noted a number of other odd things that I wont get into here now. It’s been mysterious & I. Wonder what is up with the mintage/strike and the behaviour of relevant industry players. Only a few of these have been sent in by private parties such as collectors & the few people that. Send a small number of. Coins in for grading for resale. Coins have been graded so far. Of those 21 coins only 3 coins graded PF70 and that means only 14%. Graded good and 86% graded poorly the census numbers have changed recently, with less. Coins submitted and with 1 less PF70. Some coins graded as low as PF67! A company did do a large bulk submission with 97 coins graded 70 with a signature pedigree. There’s no telling how many was pre-screened and rejected to get those 97 good ones! None of those seem to be on the market and that makes no sense! These strangely had the Tumi Tshelo signature and “Managing Mint Director” despite the fact. That he left the Mint a couple of years ago and the Mint has seen more than one Director. Perhaps these were pulled from the market voluntarily or involuntarily?? There was a problem with the coins in 2017 and this looks to be a similarly suspicious repeat. With this 2021 strike, along with a lot of things that don’t make sense. I’m a serious collector of. South African modern silver coins so of course I’m following the situation very closely. With only 14% of the coins grading 70 I don’t currently have any PF70 sale I beat the odds. And did get a 70 for my collection by some miracle. I will send more. For grading but the outlook for having any for sale is not good. Plus, NGC is currently taking over. 3 months to grade and return modern world coins. I hopefully will have some for sale tentatively. Oddly enough, the regular 2021 Krugerrand without. The privy mark also has graded very poorly. Again, only the ones sent in. A bulk submission by a big company seemed to have graded well.
