NGC SP70 – First Releases. Holly, our now 2 year old Boston Terrier, found something new and interesting to chew on one day when she was a pup. Unfortunately, it wasnt homework. She decided to chew on a small cloth pouch that happened to hold a 2017 South African 1 Rand Krugerrand in Silver, graded a perfect SP70 by NGC with the First Releases pedigree. A FIRST for the South African Mint! 2017 happened to be the 50 year Anniversary of the world famous Gold Krugerrand’s. And they decided to mark the occasion by striking a Silver Krugerrand for the very first time! This is a reverse-proof variety with the 50 privy mark on the obverse. The coin is a beauty and has not been affected by Hollys puppy teeth. The holder didnt fair as well. Its just in one corner where the holder was bit into, and a COA also shows a few indents of a 10 week old puppy. So heres a chance to acquire a very special coin at a bargain basement price.
