This 2018 proof Krugerrand coin measures 38.7 mm in diameter, is struck from 1 Troy oz. 999 fine silver and is among a limited mintage of 15,000. The bearded, left facing likeness of Boer statesman Paul Kruger created by Otto Schultz is centered on the obverse, accompanied by the inscriptions “SUID-AFRIKA” and SOUTH AFRICA. A leaping springbok antelope is featured on the reverse, originally designed by Coert Steynberg in 1948 for the South African five shilling coin.
