The one Rand face value coin measures 38.72 mm in diameter. Mintage is limited to 20,000 pieces. Obverse: The left facing likeness of former South African president Paul Kruger is showcased on the obverse. This iconic image of Kruger first appeared on coinage of the South African Republic form 1892 until 1900. The inscriptions “SUID-AFRIKA” and “SOUTH AFRICA” curve over the portrait.
