Fine Quality Modernist Sterling Silver Bracelet set with Beautiful Large Blue Lace Agate Cabochons. 1970s Studio Jewellery signed W. This is handmade studio piece with a nice weight to the silver set with Beautiful large natural Blue Lace Agate Cabochons each measuring 15 mms x 12 mms. Each bracelet section measures approximately 19 mms square. The total length of the bracelet is approximately 7 inches and it fastens securely with a bolt ring fastener. A pleasing weight on the wrist too at approximately 33 gms total weight for the bracelet. This elegant modernist silver bracelet dates from around the mid century 1970’s era and has a strong modernist minimalist designer look to it. I have seen several very fine pieces of jewellery from this South African Studio but there is little information otherwise about them. The bracelet stands in its own right as a very beautiful piece of 1970s modernist jewellery that is elegant and stylish enough to blend with both casual and formal outfits alike. VINTAGE 1940’s/50’s BIRGER HAGLUND JEWELLERY SET. Offered for sale is this very rare jewellery set which was made in South Africa in the late 1940’s/early 1950’s by the Swedish Silversmith Birger Haglund. The set comprises of the necklace with matching bracelet and a similar contemporary pair of screw back earrings. All items are in a used vintage condition and the silver shows signs of use, light tarnish, nicks to the silver, all commensurate with age and being worn. The bracelet has had a new bar clasp added as the original one had snapped in half. The bracelet measures 7 inch in length and comprises of four circular panels, each one containing a different design: zebra, rhino, elephant & African lady. The necklace measures 15 inch in length and has three circular panels, Elephant, African lady and Zebra. The earrings are a different design but match the rest of the set very well. These are screw back earrings. All pieces bear the Haglund mark. Birger Haglund was a Swedish silversmith but produced items of jewellery in Johannesburg, South Africa for four years, between 1948 & 1952, so these items of jewellery are very rare.
